Digital Hearing Aids Reviews. HD 430 RIC

PRICE – £449.00HD 430 RIC Hearing aid small

The HD 430 RIC digital hearing aid is an exceptionally small receiver-in-canal type hearing device. The main body of the hearing aid sits behind the ear and is almost invisible to other people. The receiver is connected to the main body by a thin tube and sits deep in the ear canal.

Usually, such small devices are only achieved by reducing the capability of the hearing aid. On this occasion, however, the HD 430 packs plenty of punch to give the wearer a fantastic user experience.

Who is the HD 430 suitable for?

This incredibly small hearing aid is suitable for anyone with a mild to moderate hearing loss. Due to its size, it is particularly suitable for those people who are a bit sensitive about being seen wearing a hearing device.

The main body of the HD 430 sits snugly behind the ear and is all but invisible to other people. You aren’t required to have a hearing test before fitting this device. Simply submit your last hearing audiogram to Hearing and the hearing aid will be programmed for your specific needs.

The HD 430 is very simple to operate. It is also aimed at those with a limited budget. With some hearing aids costing in the range of £2000 per device, this powerful aid represents excellent value for money.

The Pros and Cons of the HD 430 digital hearing aid.

Even with the price being set at this level, I think people should still expect to get a fairly reasonable quality of sound and other features that can affect the overall listening experience. I think this device more than covers everything needed in this area.

The Pros.

Receiver-in-canal digital hearing aid. With the receiver so deep within the ear, you get great clarity of sound.

Hydro-guard – acts as a barrier to both moisture and dirt. Moisture is the arch enemy of all hearing aids. That and dirt are the two biggest causes of hearing aid failure. This Hydro-guard feature is usually only found in much more expensive models.

Discreet and compact.

Feedback Shield – aims to eradicate unwanted whistling. The receiver-in-canal hearing aids are known to be prone to this distracting whistling sound. This feedback shield helps to get rid of this problem.

Tele-coil compatible. The device can be used with an induction loop device once switched to the “T” setting.

Adaptive speech enhancement – making it easier to follow a conversation.HD 430 RIC Hearing discreet

Dual directional microphones – helps to distinguish between speech and background noise by using a trademarked tracking technology.

Environmental classification noise reduction – means the hearing aid intuitively adapts according to speech versus noise ratio in your immediate vicinity.

Powered by a 312 battery. For hearing aids this size, the battery life is usually about 5 days. With this battery, you should be able to almost double that.

Low battery warning indicator. The device emits a beep to let you know the battery power is getting low.

16 sound processing channels. Another feature that is usually only found in devices at the top of the price range.

30-day no quibble money back guarantee.

12 months manufacturer’s warranty.

Multi-memory options – designed to fit with different listening environments. The HD 430 can remember the environment you are in. The next time you are in a similar listening environment the device will automatically switch over to that memory.

This range of features is far and above what I would expect to see in a hearing aid at this price or indeed this size. The manufacturer has created a device that could well set the benchmark for others to follow.

The Cons.

The only real issue I have with the HD 430 is the lack of connectivity. Considering the price I am really stretching things here but I think that in today’s world all manufacturers need to strive to make all hearing aids compatible with things like smartphones.

Smartphones, MP3 players, iPhones, iPads etc… all play such an important role in our lives today. I don’t think it is being unreasonable to ask hearing aid manufacturers to step up to the plate. Those of us with hearing difficulties just want access to what everyone else takes for granted.

Training for the HD 430.

The HD 430 digital hearing aid will be delivered to you ready to go. It will have been pre-programmed for your individual needs before being sent out to you. However, there are three video’s available to you at Hearing

Available support.

Having used Hearing on a number of occasions, I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them for all of your hearing needs. This is purely a personal opinion but here is why I continue to use them.

They aim to save you money. They are a completely online company. Because of this’ they don’t have the usual overheads such as rental, rates electric etc… They use these savings to give you the best price available.

Free access to a qualified audiologist. You will be able to discuss your particular needs with someone you know who is qualified. Whether it is a fitting or a performance issue, the experts will take care of it.

Pre-programmed hearing aids. All of their hearing aids are originally set up for a high-frequency requirement. This is by far the most common form of hearing loss. They can personalise your hearing aids to meet your specific needs. All you have to do is send them your last audiogram. Anyone can request one of these from their doctor.

Their 30-day no quibble money back guarantee. This should be a great comfort to anyone buying hearing aids. This will allow you to test drive your new devices for a full month so that you can make sure that they are perfect for you.

My summary of the HD 430 digital hearing aid.

Overall this is a very high-quality hearing aid. It’s small and very discreet design and build will make it very appealing to lots of people. Despite its size, it has been made to a very high specification and contains some features that I would usually only see in models that cost a lot more.HD 430 RIC Hearing aid.

The lack of connectivity is a slight disappointment but I must admit I am probably being very harsh here. If you are on a limited budget and don’t really care about connecting your hearing aid to your mobile phone, then you will want this device.

It is by far and away the best value hearing aid I have come across. It is also backed up by the usual quality and service that I know you will get from Hearing The verdict is simple. If you want a great quality hearing aid at an unbelievable price then this is the device for you.

Excellent clarity……

Review by Edward J Harborne (Posted on 22/12/2016)

I live in France and purchased from Hearing Direct HD 430 RIC hearing aid.
I have had cheap ones in the past which have not had good sound and also some years ago a very expensive in-ear unit costing £2500 and after 3 years broke down and they wanted Euro 1000 to repair it.
The new unit has excellent clarity and background noise suppression. I had a minor problem with feedback but Joan at Hearing direct could not have been more helpful in resolving the problem. This at a fraction of the cost of a unit bought from a hearing
aid specialist shop.
