Overall Rating – 10 out of 10.

Hidden hearing aids have become very common amongst those who are uncomfortable wearing the ones that sit behind the ear. It gives them more confidence in social situations and makes them feel less noticeable.

With some hearing aids costing in the thousands of £/$, the HD 250 digital model, at £229 is very much at the bargain end of the spectrum. So, just what sort of quality do you get for this sort of money?

What type of hearing aid are they and who are they for.

The HD 250 Digital hidden hearing aid is what is known as an ITE (in the ear) aid. This means that the whole of the aid sits in the ear. There is nothing to loop behind the ear which makes them virtually invisible for others to see.

They are a tiny device and very discreet. For those people who are self-conscious about their hearing aids then this model will be ideal.

They are suited to those who suffer a hearing loss in the range of mild to moderate. This is the most common range of hearing loss and particularly applies to the elderly as their hearing diminishes as they get older.

What are the key features of the HD 250 Digital Hearing Aid?

For such a small device and at this price range, there are a number of very significant features that I would not have expected to see.

They are pre-programmed to assume a high-frequency requirement most commonly linked to age-related hearing loss. However, if you send your latest audiogram to HEARING DIRECT they will re set it accordingly.

They are a one size fits all hearing aid. There is no need to get molds done of your ear etc… The device comes with 3 silicone tips to ensure that they will fit any size of ear.

The other significant features of the HD 250 hidden hearing aids are;

  • Tri-mode layered noise reduction
  • Push button volume control
  • Feedback shield blocks unwanted whistling
  • Dynamic Speech Enhancement
  • Memory change indicator with adjustable frequency and volume levels
  • 12 months full manufacturers warranty
  • Low battery warning
  • Uses a 10A batterytiny hearing aids

What are the negatives?

To be honest I cannot find any. If you want a top of the technology range hearing aid that will connect to your smartphone and television wirelessly then this model is not for you. In fairness, the manufacturer doesn’t make any such claims.

To sum up then.

At a price of £229.00, the HD 250 Digital hearing aid represents great value for money. The features of the device mean that you are getting a quality product that is both discreet to wear and will allow mild to moderate hearing loss sufferers to hear in even difficult environments.

I have owned a pair of these hearing aids for almost 6 months now. Actually, mine is slightly different but only because my hearing loss is different. I was fairly skeptical of getting them due to the price and I did not expect to like them at all. I can say with all honesty that they are one of the best hearing aids I have ever used.

  1. I think it is just great. The fact that it’s hidden and discreet. My dad have a hearing loss problem too. I’d love to buy this for him. I’ve never bought any for him though. Do you know how long does the battery last? Can we replace the battery? Or can it be recharged or something? Like I said, I’ve never bought a hearing add before. But this one is just so great and tempting me to buy for my dad.

    1. Hi Snow, the batteries last about 10 days which is quite good. I have tried re chargeable batteries but didn’t like them at all, the charge would only last about 2 days. These batteries are fairly cheap and I think are the best option. I love these hearing aids and have never had an issue with them. If you need any further information please let me know. Cheers

  2. Hi. Great product. I know that hearing aids could be very pricey but those ones look very affordable. The fact that they are hidden makes you more confident. I have a friend with hearing problems with his left ear and he is always trying to avoid people talking him from the left side. I will definitely suggest this product to him and help him feel more comfortable. Thanks for your review

    1. Hi Nas, thanks for your comments. Hearing aids can be very expensive and it can put people off buying them, meaning they continue to struggle with everyday conversations etc… I have these hidden ones and they are great for when I am going out for a night. No one knows I am wearing them so I don’t constantly have to answer questions about my hearing loss. The price is as good as I have been able to find without sacrificing the quality. If your friend needs any further advice then I would be more than happy to help. Cheers

  3. Do you mind if I quote a few of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your website? My website is in the very same area of interest as yours and my visitors would truly benefit from a lot of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this ok with you. Thank you!

    1. Hi Quentin,

Thank you so much for your comments. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I recently lost my father and decided to take a little break from the website.

Please feel free to use whatever you need from any of the articles on the website as long as you credit the source back. The goal of my website is open up the social side of hearing loss rather than concentrate on the purely medical side of things. The more people I can get my message across too the better.

      Kind Regards,
      Eddie.
